ASU, Inc. Clarifies Servicing and Warranty of ITT F4949 Aviation Goggles
Recently, there have been announcements by two different companies stating that they are authorized to service, repair, and certify ITT Night Vision products. “This is inaccurate information”, states Mike Atwood, President of Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU), located in Boise, Idaho.
As verified by ITT Night Vision, the only companies that are authorized to service, repair, certify, and conduct warranty servicing on ITT Night Vision aviation systems is their exclusive dealer/distributor, Aviation Specialties Unlimited and themselves, ITT Night Vision located in Roanoke, VA.
By utilizing any company other than the authorized distributor and manufacturer listed above, the operator will risk voiding their goggle warranty and cannot ensure the use of “certified replacement parts” in the repair or certification of their goggles.
ASU is the largest provider of Night Vision Services to civil and law enforcement aviation operations in the world. ASU has sold over 1,200 F4949 aviation systems worldwide, trained over 1,000 pilots, 2,300 crewmembers operating out of 215 bases within the United States, logging over 25,000 NVG flight hours in ASU modified cockpits and have provided continued maintenance, certification and support for over 1,000 systems.
ASU recently received Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) for all (15) ASU Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) to include the A109,A119, BH222, BH430, BH212, BH412, BH206, BH407, EC120, EC135, EC145, AS350, AS365, BK117, BO105, MD500, and C208B. ASU is presently working on new STC projects for the S-76C and S-92 aircraft.
