The tail-end of this week's storms were whipping through the area, and CALSTAR 6 lead pilot Kris Hunt was guiding the helicopter over Kingsbury Grade. In the back of the chopper, flight nurses Ted Langevin and Nathan Schwab were busy caring for a man who had been injured when a vehicle struck him Thursday night.

Lutheran Air is always on call and when the sun goes down is no exception. "We've been flying at night safely for quite some time. We've just taken it to a whole new level with night vision goggles," Rex Alexander, a pilot with Lutheran Air, said. The new night vision goggles magnify available light to make the eyes see things they otherwise couldn't see in the dark. Light is brought in from one end of the lens and amplified three to four times, turning the black abyss of night into a green field of clarity.

An Air Corps AW 139 helicopter has completed the transfer of a patient from Castlebar to Cork tonight. The Air Corps helicopter collected the patient and medical team at 4.50pm in Castlebar and transferred them to Cork completing the mission at 6.15pm. The mission was completed using specialist Night Vision Goggles (NVG). This is the 66th Air Ambulance mission carried out by the Air Corps so far this year.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The military has realized the benefits of night vision technology for years. Now pilots with Sanford's Life Flight have been trained and are now using the helmet mounted night-vision goggles. The goggles are especially important for medical emergencies in our rural areas

After receiving full authorization on 17 December 2010 from Irish Defense Forces to conduct night operations using Night Vision, Irish Defense Forces Air Corps based at Casement Aerodome, Baldonnel Co. Dublin Ireland recently transported a sick patient at night in poor weather conditions thanks to the Night Vision Goggles and Training conducted by Aviation Specialties Unlimited, (ASU).

A helicopter using night vision goggles and a high-powered search light has found a five-year-old girl missing near Tauranga overnight. The girl went missing at Pyes Pa, 16km south of the city, about 6.20pm as the family visited neighbours, said a spokeswoman for the Baytrust Rescue Helicopter. A full blown police search was in progress by night fall, with search and rescue teams being brought in from Tauranga to help police officers and local volunteers, she said. The helicopter, using night vision goggles and its 20-million candle power Night Sun, found the girl in a clearing about 800m from where she was last seen, after a 30 minute search.

Three STAR Flight EC145s spent several hours in the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 8 responding to distress calls and successfully rescuing 13 people from flood waters, caused by Tropical Storm Hermine, throughout the region around Austin, Texas. The rescue operation was the largest to date for the unit?s EC145s.
