The FAA-approved F4949 ANVIS-9, to include the world's most advanced ANVIS, the "Pinnacle," is available in versions designed to fit the helmets of helicopter and fixed-wing pilots. These versions feature the rear-mounted, low-profile battery pack, which uses 4 full-size AA alkaline batteries. The mount includes an electrical receptacle through which a cable extending from the rear-mounted battery pack across the top of the helmet is connected to the power supply power system. The cable is secured to the helmet with velcro strips.
