Solar Eclipse 2017 August 21, 2017

Idaho and eastern Oregon will be in the path of a Solar Eclipse.  The epicenter where the total Solar Eclipse 2017 will be visible across Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho is a short distance north of Boise, Idaho.  One of the best places in the United States to view the epicenter of the solar eclipse is Midvale, Idaho.  This locations has an airport, however, there is no scheduled flights there.  If you are planning to travel to the 2017 Solar Eclipse in Western Idaho on the day of the eclipse and travel back to Boise, please be aware that there are over 700,000 residents in the greater Treasure Valley area that are not in the path of the epicenter of the total eclipse and they may be planning the same thing.  While the transportation network in the Treasure Valley can handle the daily demands, Interstate 84, the State Highways, county roads and city streets could quickly become parking lots in the hottest part of the summer as residents and visitors attempt to travel to the epicenter viewing areas on the day of the eclipse.
