(Boise, ID. - October 13, 2011) Aviation Specialties Unlimited, (ASU) announced that they will host an afternoon mixer from 4:30-6 p.m., Tuesday, October 18 at the convention hall in room 267, and present the night vision awards in St Louis, Missouri at the Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC). Drinks and light appetizers will be served. "The AMTC annual conference provides us with another opportunity to honor recipients of the Night Vision Awards," said Justin Watlington of ASU. "The Air Medical Transportation industry was among the pioneers to adopt night vision early on when it was first approved. We look forward to honoring some great units that have been flying safely with NVGs for years."

ASU announced they will display at Helitech in Duxford, U.K. September 27-29 at booth 515. "We will be displaying the most technologically advanced night vision equipment in the industry," said ASU Founder Mike Atwood. "ASU has long been known for our night vision goggles, training, maintenance and equipment. That has not changed. We are now able to also offer clients a wide array of night vision products for ground troops as well."

ASU instructors spent time at Silverhawk Aviation Academy in Caldwell, Idaho teaching future pilots about the use of night vision goggles. Students participated in initial ground school training and were given an orientation on night vision systems. ?We wanted to take time to give back not only to our community, but also our industry by providing some very basic NVG academic training to the future pilots studying at Silverhawk Aviation Academy,? said ASU Instructor and pilot Kim Harris. ?The training and information we provided these students will help them chose which aviation career path they want to pursue.
