Office Location: Boise, Idaho

Position Summary:

The Production Planner Scheduler prioritizes and schedules sales order and production work orders according to established lead-times in a manner that facilitates Just-In-Time deliveries and maximizes cash flow.  Duties include; liaising with business units to manage throughput, tracking production, identifying potential issues, providing weekly status reports and ensure timely invoicing.  Supports procurement, manufacturing and business operations, as required.


  • Prioritize and schedule Sales Orders according to appropriate lead-times and with a goal of Just-In-Time delivery and maximizing cash flow.
  • Liaison with business units to ensure orders stay on schedule and identify potential issues.
  • Identify issues affecting timely delivery or inefficiencies in operations and raise issues and recommendations to supervisor.
  • Track timely invoicing of orders.
  • Organize and facilitate weekly meetings with business unit managers.
  • Provide weekly reports to Senior Management summarizing all Sales Order’s status relative to the schedule, changes in schedule, potential issues, weekly, monthly and quarterly revenue and capacity projections.
  • Support purchasing activities as assigned.
  • Support manufacturing administrative as assigned.

Skills and Ability Expectations:

  • Ability to liaison with various business units and strong personalities.
  • Customer service attitude for internal and external customers.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and Microsoft Office products; strong computer skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Great customer service/phone skills and flexibility for handling a wide range of activities.
  • Proactive use of logic and reasoning to identify and recommend solutions to issues that arise.
  • Demonstrate personal time management skills.


  • Minimum 3 years production planning and scheduling experience.  Prefer experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • CPIM and Project Management Certifications a plus.
  • Purchasing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
