ASU announced today that they have surpassed their 100th AS350 cockpit modification. The 100th modification was completed for Advanced Helicopter Services, customer the California Highway Patrol.

"AS350's can be found all over the world and are a very versatile aircraft," said Mike Atwood founder and CEO of ASU. "Numerous law enforcement and fire fighting agencies in North America operate the AS350. By modifying the aircraft for night vision capabilities, we are giving those agencies the ability to operate the aircraft at night and increasing their ability to serve and protect their communities."

ASU honored the first annual Night Vision Award winners at a luncheon this afternoon during Heli-Expo in Orlando, Florida. This is the first of three ceremonies that will be held in 2011. The next award reception will be held in New Orleans at the ALEA and in St. Louis at AMTC.

"It is an honor to recognize all the recipients this year," said founder and CEO of ASU Mike Atwood, "There are so many organizations and people out there everyday using night vision to help their communities. We were glad to honor some of them today."

BOISE, Idaho - Aviation Specialties Unlimited, (ASU) announced today that they received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the CASA 212 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The C212 is used for transportation and surveillance. With the new STC, ASU will modify the cockpit and cabin of a C212 for supplemental lighting night vision conformity for Evergreen Helicopters.

After receiving full authorization on 17 December 2010 from Irish Defense Forces to conduct night operations using Night Vision, Irish Defense Forces Air Corps based at Casement Aerodome, Baldonnel Co. Dublin Ireland recently transported a sick patient at night in poor weather conditions thanks to the Night Vision Goggles and Training conducted by Aviation Specialties Unlimited, (ASU).

Safety Alert for Operators is issued for operators of aircraft equipped with a Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) of potential deficiencies in the configuration and condition of installed NVIS equipment .
