ASU Completes 100th Night Vision Modification on BK 117 Aircraft

Aviation Specialties Unlimited, (ASU) announced they have completed their 100th Night Vision cockpit modification on BK 117 Aircraft. This most recent lighting installation was completed at Helicopter Specialties in Janesville, Wisconsin. Helicopter Specialties is a helicopter completion center and performs maintenance, repair and overhauls.

Aviation Specialties Unlimited, (ASU) announced they have completed their 100th Night Vision cockpit modification on BK 117 Aircraft. This most recent lighting installation was completed at Helicopter Specialties in Janesville, Wisconsin. Helicopter Specialties is a helicopter completion center and performs maintenance, repair and overhauls.

“Completing 100 NVIS lighting modifications for the BK 117 is a great mark of achievement,” said ASU Repair Station Manager Shawn Woodworth. “We have now completed nearly 700 modifications on all types of Aircrafts. Our customers continually reach out to us because of our commitment to quality and service. We want to thank every customer that helped us reach this milestone.”

The BK 117 was completed for Flight For Life Transport System, which is operated by Air Methods. ASU has also worked on other aircraft types for Helicopter Specialties and has completed more than 12 aircraft for them with the first modification on a BK 117 C2 (EC145). Helicopter Specialties has been given the FAA Diamond and Gold awards for excellence in maintenance training, has more than 200 years of combined experience and is known for their custom completions.
