Press release from PHI Air Medical
PHI Air Medical has acquired E3 Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) from Aviation Specialties Unlimited, Inc. (ASU Inc.). With this upgrade, the company continues to improve flight safety and nighttime performance across its national fleet.
The new E3 NVGs offer lightweight construction and high optical clarity. As a result, pilots can operate with better visibility, stronger situational awareness, and greater precision during night missions.
Enhanced Safety Through Advanced Night Vision Technology
“We are thrilled to integrate ASU’s E3 Night Vision Goggles into our operations,” said Jordan Lewis, Vice President, Supply Chain at PHI Air Medical. “This acquisition reflects our commitment to investing in the best technology as we work toward our mission of moving communities to health. The E3 NVGs will give our pilots superior visibility and a safer operational environment.”
ASU Inc. designed the E3 NVGs to reduce fatigue, improve comfort, and limit repetitive stress injuries. Because of this ergonomic focus, pilots can fly longer and respond more effectively to complex nighttime conditions. The goggles also improve overall situational awareness, which is essential for safe and accurate air medical transport.
A Partnership Built on Safety and Mission Excellence
“ASU Inc. is excited to support PHI Air Medical with our latest E3 Night Vision Goggles,” said Dan Meyer, Vice President of Sales at ASU Inc. “We share PHI’s dedication to safety and excellence. The E3 NVGs are built to withstand the demanding environment of air medical operations, and we are confident they will strengthen PHI’s mission capabilities.”
Since 1995, ASU Inc. has supplied night vision technology to helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) across the country. Over the years, the company has focused on innovations that improve safety and efficiency. Therefore, the integration of E3 NVGs aligns naturally with PHI’s long‑term strategy to enhance operational reliability and patient care.
Continuing a Legacy of Innovation in Air Medical Transport
“We are proud of our partnership with ASU Inc.,” Lewis added. “We look forward to the strong impact that E3 NVGs will have on our missions nationwide. PHI has long been a leader in air medical transport, and this acquisition shows our commitment to staying ahead with the best tools and practices.”
