ASU Delivers 21 Ecliptus to the Army National Guard Announces GSA Special Pricing Extension

Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU) recently delivered 21 customized Ecliptus night vision video cameras to the Army National Guard as part of the company’s new GSA Ecliptusprogram. The Ecliptus is a wireless, recording, and imaging night vision camera ideal for night time documentation, surveillance and video production.

The Army National Guard has unique special mission training and evaluation requirements,” said ASU President Jim Winkel. “ASU’s off the shelf Ecliptus was recently selected by the Guard for use as a low-light mission recording tool. Part of the beauty of Ecliptus is its very small form factor. We were able to leverage its small size as our team of engineers developed a custom solution to satisfy all of the Guard’s requirements.”

Because of the recent success on the initial GSA order, ASU is extending their GSA Ecliptus ES1000 special pricing of $3,495 through the end of September. The base unit for the Ecliptus for GSA qualified buyers is regularly $4,433.

The Ecliptus offers a 40-degree field of view, weighs less than one pound, is integrated with the GoPro® Hero 4 and captures images at 12 megapixels with a burst mode at 30 frames per second. It captures night vision images utilizing a military grade AN/PVS-14 objective lens, records in ultra-high definition (4X HD), and stores these images using a 16 GB SD card. Images and video can also be viewed in real time using WiFi enabled smart devices. The camera modes can be controlled using the GoPro® button controls and from mobile devices with the GoPro app..

“Knowing that the Ecliptus products are being used to serve and protect our nation by the Army National Guard is something that inspires our entire company,” said Chief Technology Officer Dr. Joe Estrera. “The Ecliptus is a great product, but it is just the beginning of our capabilities. If an agency has specific needs, we have the team, technology and resources to make the Ecliptus a highly effective, economically viable and mission critical device.”
