Night Vision Awards Announces Call for Entries for 2014 Awards at ALEA Annual Conference and Exhibition

The Night Vision Awards selection committee announced today they are now accepting nominations for the 2014 Night Vision Awards Show to be held in Phoenix, AZ at the Airborne Law Enforcement Association’s (ALEA) annual conference. Awards will be presented to recipients on Thursday, July 17 at an awards reception from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

The Night Vision Awards are a bi-annual event with ceremonies hosted by Aviation Specialties Unlimited, Night Flight Concepts, Vertical Magazine and Rotorcraft Pro Magazine at ALEA in July and NightCon in August. The purpose of this event series is to promote operational leadership and excellence in the use of night vision, in North America and around the world.

The Community Awareness Award, International Awareness, if applicable, 5-Year Service Award and 10-Year service award will be presented at ALEA and the Mark of Excellence Award will be presented at NightCon in Dallas, Texas.

“Last year at ALEA we honored seven law enforcement units,” said Night Vision Awards emcee, Scott Emerine. “Each unit had their own story of how night vision systems helped their unit succeed in catching suspects or saving lives and we feel privileged that we are able to get their stories out there to raise awareness about NVGs while honoring them at the same time.”
