ASU to Debut New Night Vision Simulation Display Booth and Host Roundtable Discussion at Helitech International Expo & Conference

Aviation Specialties Unlimited, Inc., (ASU) announced this week that the company will bring a new night vision display booth to Helitech International Expo and Conference, October 16-18 held in Amsterdam, Netherlands that enables attendees to test night vision goggles. ASU also will host a roundtable discussion, “Shaping the Future of Night Vision Operations in Europe,” from 9:00 am to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, in room F004.

“It is one thing for people to be able to see and touch the goggles, but it is entirely different for attendees to be able to put them on and experience them using nighttime simulation,” said ASU President Jim Winkel. “Interest continues to grow in Europe on the use of night vision goggles for civilian use that includes law enforcement, emergency medical services, search and rescue and other operations. Our goal with the new booth and roundtable discussion is to raise awareness on how night vision goggle use enhances the safety of night time operations worldwide.”

The NVG roundtable discussion will feature a panel of experts from around the world. The discussion will include NVG inspection and certification, STC modifications, training, and other related topics. The panel will discuss regulatory policies and procedures and their impact on operations. Registration for the Shaping the Future of Night Vision Operations in Europe is still open, but space is limited. To register or to obtain additional information, visit /news.

“We have spent years investing time and resources to help operators in Europe and throughout the world start nighttime operations that use NVGs,” said ASU Vice President of Engineering Kip McDermott. “Obtaining NVGs is only the first step in the process. We help operators modify aircraft, train pilots and crew members on how to use the NVGs and we work on training repair stations to service and repair goggles. We hope attendees will take advantage of this opportunity to speak with our expert panel.”

In addition to the ASU roundtable discussion, ASU’s Business Development Director Kim Harris, will speak at the “Firefighting: Case Studies and New Technologies class from 11:30 until 13:00 Oct.,17 in the Mary Jennings Hegar Conference Theatre. McDermott will speak at the “Airframes: Bringing New Technology to Older Craft,” class from 13:30 until 15:00 in the Mary Jennings Hegar Conference Theatre Oct., 18.

ASU will be located at stand G29 during the show. ASU Marketing and Events Coordinator Victoria Rosploch will be at the booth along with other members of ASU’s sales team including Mike Guinn, and Daniel Burnham to answer questions about equipment, training, and other services provided by ASU.
